How often have you been excited after reading a self-help book, attending a seminar, or listening to an inspiring speech, only to fall back into your old habits and routine?

The purpose of The Hero’s Choice: Summary of Key Concepts and 30-Day Challenge is to help you move beyond understanding to living the concepts taught in The Hero’s Choice.

The workbook is divided into two sections. The first is a summary of the core concepts imbedded within the story line of the book. The intent is to make it easy for you to study and review these concepts.

The second section is a challenge for you to commit, for 30 days, to change how you respond to your key moments. The workbook provides guidelines, practices, a routine, and worksheets to successfully carry out the challenge and, by so doing, take your life to a new level.

Living From the Inside-Out

“One thing I’ve learned is that life isn’t so much about what happens out there …” Donald said, opening his arms to the room around him. “But what happens in here.” He pressed both of his hands to his heart. “Experiencing life from the inside out is far more powerful than experiencing it from the outside in.” (p.98)

Living from the inside out is recognizing that happiness and success are more about making good choices (even courageous choices) whatever the realities (situations and events) you’re facing. It’s not easy to live this way. It takes honesty, accountability, commitment, and persistence. It is far easier to live from fear (survival), duty (security), or even success.

But it’s when you choose to live from the “inside out” and make the “hero’s choice,” as you step up to your challenges, that you discover your true identity and find not only success but joy, love, meaning, and fulfillment in the journey of life. Not easy, but a worthwhile journey.

The intent of this workbook is to help you to that end.

Take the Challenge

We typically think of heroes as larger than life characters that possess extraordinary capabilities or people who put themselves in harms way to save others. No problem with that definition. But heroes are also everyday people who face life squarely and make choices based on courage, honor, or integrity—people who do the “right” thing (by their own definition) rather than the easy or convenient thing. What makes them heroes is not something extraordinary, but how they step up to day-to-day circumstances and events.

That is the purpose of the 30-day challenge. You’ll become conscious of your key moments and learn to interrupt negative patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving and replace them with new and positive choices. As you do so, you’ll feel profound personal power, confidence and joy and know that nothing outside is bigger than what is inside. You have won the most important victory of life.
